New Mercies


Jack had a rough night last night. He tossed and turned, cried, screamed. I went into his room at least five times before he ended up in our bed. I eventually moved to the couch with him so Luke could sleep. 

One of the most difficult parts of parenthood is not knowing how to help your child. You try everything. You’re exhausted, they’re exhausted. 

 Even though I am beyond tired today my love for Jack is unrelenting just like Christ’s love for us is unrelenting. I am there for Jack just as Christ is there for us in our time of need. 

Today I am weak and weary but His mercies are new every day. 

Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.  I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”

Lamentations 3:22-24
